In Germany, in the heart of fascism in the Second World War, people today celebrate the 27th of January as the National Day of the Holocaust memory. However, there are Germans who try to demolish the meaning of this tragedy. In this essay it is necessary to analyze this hot issue from all points of view and express our opinion. Firstly, on the 9th of November 1938 in Germany there was the Night of Broken Glass (Kristallnacht), which began the global process of Jewish liquidation. Secondly, it is not understandable why most inhabitants were so indifferent. Those, who had courage to protest found themselves in isolation. In addition, every German solder or policemen was involved in the mass murder, turning the country into what one Holocaust scholar has called "a genocidal state". On the other hand, some people in Germany claim that most concentration camps were established in Eastern Europe. We can not forget that between 170,000 and 200,000 German Jews had been killed. On May 19, 1943, Germany was declared Jude rein (clean of Jews). Some historians claim that Jewish doctors, businessmen and military men were given a chance to work. The fact is, on March 1, 1938, government contracts could no longer be awarded to Jewish businesses. On September 30, "Aryan" doctors could treat "Aryan" patients. The happiest were those from the 300,000 Jews in Germany who managed to escape. In conclusion, we should remember that the camps like Auschwitz-Birkenau designed and built by fascists decided the fate of about 6,000,000 people from all countries in Europe. It is important that Germans are aware of their historical fault. This example should be followed by all Europeans now as the condition of fight against racism and neofascism.
