I would like to tell you about different trends in cinema, theatre, music of English-speaking countries. Tastes differ. Everyone can choose their favourite kind of eternal art themselves. For example, I enjoy watching different movies, and American movies are the most popular ones. So, I would like to outline English and US cinematography, as it is the most well-known kind arts. Moving pictures started as an experiment at the end of the 19th century. And by 1910s, interest in the filmmaking industry began to grow. The first official Hollywood film came out in 1914 and was directed by Cecil B. DeMille. At that time synchronised audio was not invented, for actors relied on exaggerated bodylanguage and facial-expressions to show emotional messages such as anger, frustration, horror and comedy. Intertitles showed important information to the audience such as important bits of dialogue, scene-changes or important story-elements. In 1920s, there was the rise of Hollywood. The first stars were born. Charles Chaplin George K. Arthur Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor Due to the lack of audio, many early picture-houses possessed a piano to provide musical accompaniment. Most music was general, written to provide a background to various situations – Love-scenes, dramatic fights, light relaxing music for summer days, scary, dramatic music for stormy weather or horror films. So called “Talkies” came out in the late 1920s, when film studios understood how to synchronise recorded sound with moving pictures. Talkies were an important invention. Many silent-film actors were got out of work because they just didn’t understand the new technology and were unable to adapt to it. The most famous thing about Hollywood is the Hollywood Sign. It was created in 1923 and originally read «HOLLYWOODLAND» and was lit up by thousands of lightbulbs at night. In 1949, however, the weather had damaged the sign so badly that the decision was made to remove the last four letters, leaving simply «HOLLYWOOD». Moreover, I like the American Ballet Theatre. American ballet theatre was set in 1940 in New York It has its own incredible history. When you´re interested not only in your traditional sightseeings and culture but also foreign ones, you want to see it and make your dream come true. Step by step, the American ballet is gaining momentum and becomes a popular kind of art that effects every part of life. Every year, new theatres and new dance troupes are created. Every big town experiences unique ballet. I think this place is extremely beautiful and amazing The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London , United Kingdom "Colony" Opera House Buenos Aires Argentina Music is the art of sounds. It shows our impression of the outer world with its tools. In my opinion, American music is very beautiful as the English pronunciation and quality of American singers´ voices can be well percepted. When you listen to music you can imagine any picture that you have never seen. Music makes people as light as air. Art fascinates people making us better and kinder. Our generation should be interested not only in our country and our culture but also everything that surrounds us. While making this assignment, I found out a lot, and it was really interesting for me. I hope you enjoyed my work, and everyone will be interested in this topic. Список использованной литературы 1.
