The article presents a simplified approach to the calculation of the coefficient of wheeled vehicles in off-road
conditions rolling resistance with regard to the calculation of the coefficient of wheeled skidding systems rolling resistance. Given are linear regressions, based on solution of the general equation, according to the coefficient of rolling
resistance, which take into account the effect of the number of axes skidding system, its mass, ground pressure and the
transport speed. In particular cases, the comparing showed that the calculated results with obtained dependences are
consistent with the classical data. Curves were obtained for the four seasons (winter, spring, summer, autumn) and four
surface conditions (hard-packed soil, regular ground, soft ground and very soft ground), totally sixteen cases were examined. In the calculations as the raw data relating to the physical and mechanical characteristics of the surface motion,
adopted reference values presented in the literature on cross- wheeled vehicles. Also presented an approach to the definition of the transport speed skidding system with new regression. Presented is the equation for determining the speed of
movement of the wheel skidding system with its mass, specific ground pressure, the number of axes. Highlighted prospects
for further research in the direction of studying the interaction of logging systems with soils.
