Some said this is not Jewish, but universal tragedy, while others pointed out that the Holocaust is not as terrifying as we imagine. This question needs to be analyzed from both points of view. Human remains on the territory of concentration camp Majdanek Some people guess the Holocaust is historically unique. Massive murders happened in all counties and times, but extermination of the whole nation had never taken place before. Different resources name different quantity of Holocaust's victims - from 2,7 to 5,37 millions. These are only who were murdered. About 5-6 millions died from illnesses, exhaustion, lack of food in concentration camps. We must not forget that those victims were children, women and old men. The prisoners of Oswiecim Revisionists have a distinct mind. They say a thesis about destruction of Jews is at variance with lots of German documents, which show that sick and helpless Jews were helped. Witnesses' depositions, on which official version is based, also contradict each other. Criminals were inquired confessions. However, revisionists do not deny pursuit of Jews, deportations to camps and ghettos, do not deny that many Jews were shot on occupied Soviet territories. Treblinka. The monument to victims of Nazism Some people receive the Holocaust like an accident of all times and people, others put it under doubt and name it "a legend". Both minds exist, but I think that people should remember the Holocaust not only because of consequences it has given to humanity, but because of respect to those people, who had died.
