Acceptance will be based entirely upon quality. The project needs to be original and the applicant needs to be integrally involved in the project. INSTRUCTIONS Submitting Abstracts All abstracts must be sent by email to email@example.com. $1,000 Travel Award To present medical student research projects at the ANA Annual Meeting. Abstracts are solicited on the topics listed. Authors are asked to indicate the topic on their submission. Length of Abstract An abstract, not exceeding 200 words in length, should be submitted. Deadline Deadline for receipt of abstracts is August 25, 2003. Abbreviations Please spell out all abbreviated terms at first use or, if many abbreviations are used, attach a separate sheet listing spelled-out abbreviations. References When citing references, provide name of first author, title of book, or name of journal and year published. Restrictions No continuation page, illustrations or tables are to be included. ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS Notification Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by September 10, 2003 Type of Presentation Up to two abstracts will be chosen for poster presentation at the Annual Meeting of the ANA October 19 — 22, 2003. Publication All accepted abstracts will be published in the December 2003 issue of the Annals of Neurology. Annals of Neurology is the official journal of the ANA. The Editor of the Annals welcomes all papers presented at the Annual Meeting for consideration by the Editorial Board. Registration All platform and poster presenters must be registered for the Annual Meeting. AWARDS FELLOWSHIPS: The ANA offers up to three awards to persons in medical school. The individual should be the first and presenting author of the work. Selection is based on the quality of the abstract as well as the applicants potential to enter an investigative field of neuroscience. The awardee will receive a $1,000 travel award for expenses to attend the Annual Meeting. The applicants CV should be attached to the e-mailed abstract and a letter from the research mentor stating the involvement of the student in the project should be faxed or mailed to the ANA office by August 25, 2003.
