Cover Picture Hong Meng, Dmitrii F. Perepichka, and Fred Wudl* The solid-state synthesis of a conducting polymer was achieved by gentle heating of 2,5dibromo-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene, the colorless crystals of which are characterized by intermolecular Br Br contacts of just 3.45 ä. The bromine-doped black poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) crystals show a high conductivity of 80 S cm 1. Thin films of the conducting polymer can also be easily fabricated.
