… can be prepared from an amino acid based supramolecular hydrogel assembled within
phospholipid vesicles. In their Communication on page 9343 ff. S. Mann and co-workers
show that these hydrogel vesicles undergo dynamic morphological deformation and are
capable of autonomous movement through the reaction between platinum nanoparticles
attached to their outer surface and H2O2. The cover picture shows a “blueprint” image
(complete with coffee ring stain!) outlining the design ideas behind their protocell
model.
