GREENPEACE
Why?
When?
What?
Who?
Where?
What?
Greenpeace
is an international environmental
organization. Members of Greenpeace are in
the places where the environment
is
in
danger. They always act fast and bravely.
Greenpeace
members
are
often
called
"greens".
Members
of
the
Greenpeace
Organization work all over the world. They say
that our planet is in danger. Oceans and seas
are polluted with dangerous chemicals. The
atmosphere is polluted with toxins. Many
animals and fish are killed.
When?
Greenpeace
was started on the 15th
of September 1971 in Canada.
Today, Greenpeace is an international
ecological organization that has 2.8
million supporters worldwide, and national
as well as regional offices in 41 countries.
Its headquarters are based in Amsterdam,
the Netherlands.
Who?
The committee's founders were
Dorothy and Irving Stowe, Marie and Jim
Bohlen, Ben and Dorothy Metcalfe, and
Bob Hunter.
Greenpeace exists because this fragile
earth deserves a voice. It needs
solutions. It needs change. It needs
action.
What is Greenpeace's mission?
protect the environment
fight against water pollution
fight against air pollution
protect animals and plants
regulate the ecological situation
stop global warming
protect ancient forests
41 Years of Greenpeace Victories
In 1971, a group of activists set sail to
Amchitka Island, Alaska to protest nuclear
testing.
As Bob Hunter, one of the crew
members put it, "Whatever history decides
about the big picture, the legacy of the voyage
itself is not just a bunch of guys in a fishing
boat, but the Greenpeace the entire world has
come to love and hate." Since then, with a
combination of daring action, solid science,
and political pressure, Greenpeace has
revealed the threats, confronted the villains
and forced the solutions necessary for a green
and peaceful world.

Greenpeace’s Message
“When the last
tree is cut down
and the last fish
killed, the last
river poisoned,
then you will
see that you
can’t eat money
“.
Representatives of Greenpeace have
brought the message from the Earth
“Dear boys and girls!
Take care of me. I’m ill. My water
is polluted. The air is dirty. Don’t cut down the forests .
Plant a tree a year. Don’t kill animals and birds.
They may all disappear.
Never throw or break glass bottles. You pollute the land.
Take what you need from me. You are my parts.
So, keep me clean and healthy for future generations.
Love,
your Earth”.
They have proposed students to help the Earth and
grow this tree. The children have used the tree
leaves and written their promise.
At the end of the lesson students have
made the poster “Environmental
Protection”.
Be GREEN at home!

when you leave

Be GREEN in the countryside!
 Don’t hurt animals and

п‚—
п‚—
п‚—
п‚—
п‚—
birds;
Don’t damage birds’
nests;
Feed animals and birds in
winter;
Don’t cut down baby
trees;
Don’t throw rubbish into
the rivers;
Don’t leave litter after
your picnics;
Never forget that you are
the admire not the
aggressor.
Be GREEN at school!
п‚— Ride your bicycle to
school, a lot of cars
pollute the air;
п‚— Use both parts of the
paper for writing or
drawing something;
п‚— Turn off the lights
and computers when
you leave school;
п‚— Organize the
ecological school
groups.
Each of us must do everything possible to
keep the land, air and water tidy.
The Earth Is Our Home!
Love and Protect Our Nature!
If we want to live
on the clean Earth
we should
remember about
ecological culture
that means
respect of the
nature not only as
our home, but also
as a home of
millions of species
of insects, animals
and birds.
