Powder Neutron Diffraction Study of Nd6 Fe13 GaD12.3 with a Filled
— The title compound is synthesized
16 - 004 Nd6 Fe13 Si-Type Structure.
from Nd6 Fe13 Ga (obtained by arc melting of the elements and annealing at
600 ◦ C for 4 weeks) at room temperature under a D2 pressure of 1 bar. It is
characterized by powder XRD and high-resolution powder neutron diffraction.
Nd6 Fe13 GaD12.3 crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I4/mcm. The D
atoms occupy nearly completely four different types of interstices, comprising
Nd2 Fe4 octahedra and three types of tetrahedra, Nd4 , Nd3 Fe, and Nd2 Fe2 . The
deuterium sublattice is completely ordered with the shortest D–D distance being
