A Highly Hydrophilic Thin Film under 1 µW/cm2 UV Illumination.
16 - 017 — Thin TiO2 films are prepared by a spin-coating method and loaded with
WO3 by using aqueous NH3 solutions of H2 WO4 . The surface morphology of
the prepared films is characterized by AFM. The films become highly hydrophilic
with a water contact angle of θ = 0◦ under very weak UV illumination corresponding to regular indoor lighting. The films are optically transparent and can
potentially be applied as a coating on various indoor products with promising
anti-fogging and self-cleaning properties.
