Arylboronic Acid Catalyzed Direct Condensation of Carboxylic Acids with Ureas.
The first catalytic direct condensation of carboxylic acids (I) with ureas, thiourea or
45- 057 —
urethanes gives N-acyl derivatives in the presence of electron-poor arylboronic acids
as the catalyst. Furthermore, a direct conversion of carboxylic acids [cf. (Ib)] to nitriles
is accomplished with perrhenic acid as catalytic additive. — (MAKI, T.;
