Neutron Studies of Cation Disorder in Zn2FeV3O11-δ. — The title compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2 and has a complex structure with cation
disorder. No magnetic long-range order is observed down to 10 K, in contrast to suggestions based on magnetic susceptibility and EPR data. Essential differences in the
positions of the metal ions are observed between the neutron diffraction study and earlier XRD results. It is suggested that disorder of Fe and Zn atoms is responsible for significant differences in the physical properties reported for this compound. —
