Wet-Chemical Synthesis and Martensitic Phase Transformation of Au—Cd
with Near-Equiatomic Composition. — AuCd nanoparticles are syn46- 016 Nanoparticles
thesized from mixtures of CdCl2(PPh3) and AuCl(PPh3) in diphenylether, oleic acid,
tributylphospine, and LiBHEt3 in octylether (393—473 K, 1—3 h). The thermoelastic
transformation behavior of the samples with respect to particle size is characterized by
calorimetry, XRD, and TEM. The martensitic transformation start temperature of the
AuCd particles is about 49 K and thus drastically lowered compared to AuCd bulk
