Crystal Growth of New Strontium Iron Rhodium Oxides: Sr4Fe 0.73Rh2.27O9 and
SrFe0.71Rh 0.29O3. — Single crystals of the title compounds are grown from K2CO3 melts
containing Rh, SrCO3 or SrCl2, and Fe2O3 (alumina crucible, 1050 °C, 24 h).
Sr4Fe0.73Rh 2.27O9 crystallizes in the trigonal space group P321 with Z = 3 and is structurally related to the 2H-hexagonal perovskites. The compound contains two independent chains of face-sharing RhO6 octahedra and Fe/RhO6 trigonal prisms, which are
separated by Sr2+ cations. SrFe0.71Rh0.29 O3 has the cubic perovskite type structure, space
