Synthesis and Crystal Structure of TbNiGeD1.8. — The title compound is synthesized by deuteration of TbNiGe (obtained from the elements by arc melting) below
150 °C at >3 bar D2 and characterized by powder neutron and X-ray diffraction.
TbNiGeD1.8 crystallizes in the ZrBeSi-type structure (hexagonal, space group
P63/mmc). The deuterium atoms are surrounded by three Tb and one Ni atom in tetrahedral coordination. Each D-filled Tb3Ni tetrahedron shares three edges and one corner
