Thermodynamic and Structural Investigations of Heat-Treated Amorphous
Ge—Te Alloys. — Phase transformations in amorphous GexTe100-x (x = 10, 15, 20,
25 at%) alloys are characterized by DSC and XRD. Alloys with x = 20 and 25 crystallize in one stage with simultaneous formation of GeTe and Te phases, whereas those
with x = 10 and 15 exhibit two-stage amorphous-to-crystalline transformation due to
segregation of Te and subsequent formation of GeTe crystallites. Characteristic temperatures of the glass transition and crystallization are given as well as the volume fraction
of the crystalline phases as function of temperature for alloys with x = 15 and 20. —
