Crystal Structure Determination of Zeolite Nu-6(2) and Its Layered Precursor
Nu-6(1). — As revealed by powder XRD the layered 4,4'-bipyridyl silicate
C40N8Si24O52 (Nu-6(1)) and its calcined form Si24O48 (Nu-6(2)) crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/a with Z = 1. The crystal structure of Nu-6(1) consists of
(Si6O13 )2n
2n layers held together by hydrogen bonds to the organic molecules. The
framework structure of Nu-6(2) is characterized by the existence of one-dimensional
straight eight-membered-ring channels. Nu-6(2) is an active and selective dewaxing
