The Structure-Directing Influence of α,ω-Alkanediammonium Ions on the Formation of Cyanocuprates(I). — The structures of the cyanocuprates (IIa) (monoclinic, space group P21/c, Z = 2), (IIb) (orthorhombic, C2221, Z = 4), (IIc) (orthorhombic,
Pnn2, Z = 2), and (III) (triclinic, P1, Z = 1) are determined by single crystal XRD. In
the crystal structures of compounds (II) (CuCN)6-rings which vary in conformation are
connected to anionic layers which are separated by the rigid all-anti alkanediammonium ions. The dications and water molecules are linked to chains by hydrogen bridges,
penetrating the anionic layers in a needle-like fashion. In contrast, the deformable dications [NH3(CH2)5NH3]2+ in (III) are integrated in cavities of a three-dimensional cyanocuprate(I) network. — (PRETSCH, T.; HARTL*, H.; Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 630
