High-Pressure Synthesis of Metallic Perovskite Ruthenate CaCu3Ga2Ru2O12 . —
The title compound is synthesized from a stoichiometric mixture of CaCO3, CuO,
Ga2O3, and RuO2 (12.5 GPa, 1200 °C). CaCu3Ga 2Ru2O12 is isostructural with
CaCu3Ti4O12 and CaCu3Ru4O12 , and crystallizes in the space group Im3 with Ga and Ru
disordered over the octahedral sites. The compound exhibits a temperature-independent Pauli-paramagnetic and metallic character. It belongs to an unusual and interesting
group of perovskites that show heteronuclear valence degeneracy. — (BYEON*,
