MoS2 Nanostructures: Synthesis and Electrochemical Mg2+ Intercalation. — Holfullerene-like particles, fibrous floccus, and spherical nanovesicles of MoS2

are prepared from aqueous solutions of Na2MoO4 and various sulfurization reagents
such as CS2, Na2S, MeCSNH2, CSN2H4, and KSCN (autoclave, 180 °C, 24 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD, TEM, XPS, and resonance Raman spectroscopy. Mg2+ ions show better reversible intercalation/deintercalation cycles in as-synthesized MoS2 nanostructures than in bulk MoS2 samples. The reversible intercalation of
