Hydrothermal Synthesis, Structure and Magnetic Properties of a One-Dimensional Iron Arsenate, ∞1[NH3(CH2)2NH(CH2)2NH3][Fe2F4(HAsO 4)2]. — The new title
compound is synthesized hydrothermally from mixtures of Fe(acac)3, As2O3, HF,
diethylenetriamine, and H2O in the ratio of 1:3:4:4:200 (pressure vessel, 180 °C, 72 h,
70% yield). The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2
(single crystal XRD) and represents the first one-dimensional structure built up exclusively from secondary building units consisting of two FeO3F3 octahedral units sharing
an edge and connected through two HAsO4 tetrahedral units. The compound shows
very weak antiferromagnetic exchanges along the chains. — (CHAKRABARTI, S.;
