ate allyl boronates of type (II), formed by the title reaction, are converted into air- and
water-stable borates (III) by treatment with KHF2 or alternatively into homoallylic alcohols (V) by treatment with aldehydes. The reaction is (E)-selective and works well
for Baylis—Hillman adducts derived from aryl, heteroaryl, and aliphatic aldehydes.
