Biomolecule-Assisted Reduction in the Synthesis of Single-Crystalline Tellurium
— Single crystalline Te nanowires are synthesized hydrothermally for the
52- 208 Nanowires.
first time by reducing aqueous solutions of commercial H2TeO4 with alginic acid
(autoclave, 150 °C, 15 h). The samples are characterized by XRD, SEM, and TEM. The
biomolecule has a strong morphological directing function. This method may be useful
for preparing other nanostructures of low dimensionality under very mild conditions as
