Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Strontium Iodate, Sr(IO3)2. —
The title compound is synthesized hydrothermally from a mixture of SrCO3, MoO3,
H5IO6, and H2O (steel vessel, 170 °C, 7 d, 36% yield). As revealed by single crystal
XRD, Sr(IO3)2 crystallizes in the space group P1 with Z = 4. The crystal structure consists of pyramidal IO-3 anions and Sr2+ cations, which are alternately arranged along
