Growth of Single-Crystal Indium Nitride Nanotubes and Nanowires by a Controlled-Carbonitridation Reaction Route. — Single crystal InN nanotubes and
02- 228 nanowires
in bulk quantities are synthesized by reacting mixtures of In2O3 and either
multiwalled carbon nanotubes or highly pure graphite powders with N2/Ar gas
(150—1250 °C, 1.5 h). The samples are characterized by XRD, SEM, and TEM. The
prepared InN nanotubes show strong photoluminescence emission at 640 nm. It is
believed that these high-purity InN nanotubes offer opportunities for further fundamental research and could be very useful for the growing demand in nanoscale science and
