A Single-Source Approach to Metastable Ni3S4 Crystallites and Their Optical
Properties. — The title compound is synthesized by thermal decomposition of
Ni(S2CNEt2)2 under hydrothermal conditions (H 2O, 180 °C, autoclave, 12 h). The
Ni(S2CNEt2)2 precursor is obtained by mixing NaS2CNEt2 and NiCl2 in EtOH. The
samples are characterized by XRD, SEM, IR, and UV/VIS spectroscopy. The Ni3S4
crystallites may find possible applications as optical devices. The described dithiocarbamate single-source approach may open an opportunity to prepare other inorganic materials. — (CHEN, X.; WANG, Z.; WANG, X.; WAN, J.; LIU, J.; QIAN*, Y.; Chem.
