Development of Chiral (S)-Prolinol-Derived Ligands for Palladium-Catalyzed
Allylic Alkylation: Effect of a Siloxymethyl Group on the Pyrrolidine

Backbone. — A number of new ligands of type (I) is prepared and tested in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric alkylation. Some of them such as (Ib) and (Ic) give efficient results.
It is found that the hydroxyl group of the ligand is trimethylsilylated by BSA in situ and
that the silyloxymethyl group is responsible to achieve high asymmetric induction. —
