Enhancement of Oxide Ion Conductivity in Cuspidine-Type Materials. —
The compounds Ln4(Ga2O7)O2 (Ln: La, Nd, Sm) and La4(Ga2-xGe xO7+x/2)O2
(x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6) are prepared by the ceramic method using Ln2O3, GeO2, and Ga2O3
as starting materials (Pt crucibles, 1373—1473 K, 12 h). As revealed by Rietveld
refinements of neutron and X-ray powder diffraction data the La containing compounds
crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/c. The extra-oxygen is located between
the tetrahedral digallate/germanate groups. The electrochemical characterization
