Structural Characterization, Electric and Magnetic Behavior of Zn-Doped
Manganites. — As revealed by powder XRD the compounds LaMn1-x ZnxO3
(0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.40) crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pbnm. Mn and Zn cations
are randomly distributed over the octahedral sites of the perovskite structure. Magnetic
susceptibility measurements indicate frustration and competition of both antiferro- and
ferromagnetic interactions. Resistivity measurements show semiconductor behavior
for all compounds. No magnetoresistance response is observed. —
