Synthesis and Structure Determination of a Novel Lithium Copper Vanadate
LiCu2VO4(OH)2. — The novel title compound is obtained besides Cu3V2O7(OH)2
(volborthite) from the hydrothermal reaction of CuCl2, V2O5, and LiOH (H2O, 170 °C;
autoclave, 25 h). LiCu2VO4(OH)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P212121
with Z = 4 (Rietveld refinement of powder XRD data). The structure contains
rutile-type copper chains interconnected to layers via common corners and further connected into a three-dimensional framework by rows of alternating vanadium tetrahedra
