Giant Magnetoresistance and Magnetocaloric Effects of the Mn1.82V0.18Sb Com— The novel intermetallic title compound exhibits a largest giant magnetore10- 010 pound.
sistance ratio of 26% at 250 K in a field of 5 T. Moreover, the compound has a high
magnetic transition temperature of 280 K indicating that it can possibly find application
in giant magnetoresistance devices. A large negative magnetocaloric effect with a magnetic-entropy change of -5.5 J/kg·K is also observed around the magnetic transition
