Ratiometric Dual Fluorescent Receptors for Anions under Intramolecular Charge
Mechanism. — A series of intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) dual fluo10- 085 Transfer
rescent receptors (I) is presented in which the phenylthiourea anion binding site is conjugated to the electron acceptor moiety of the CT fluorophore dimethylaminobenzamide via an iminoyl linker. It is shown that the electronic effect of the arylthiourea
substituent is efficiently transmitted to the CT fluorophore and, thus, influences the CT
dual fluorescence. Anion binding proceeds via hydrogen bonding at the free N—H
groups of the thiourea and guanidine unit and is signaled by a blue shift in the CT emission and by a decrease of the CT to LE intensity ratio. — (WEN, Z.-C.; JIANG*,
