An Electrochemical Investigation of Mg1-xAl xNi (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) Hydrogen Storage
Alloys. — The title alloys are characterized by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical
impedance spectroscopy. XRD reveals the existence of the new compound Mg3AlNi2
crystallizing in the cubic space group Fd3m. The new phase shows poor hydrogen capacity, but good hydride dynamics at low temperature without any treatment. The electrochemical capacity and cycle life of alloy electrodes increase markedly with increasing content of the new compound in the alloys. It is suggested that the new compound
