Construction of Chiral Quaternary Carbon Centers by Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric
Substitution with P,N-1,1'-Ferrocene Ligands. — Good to high regio- and
12- 039 Allylic
enantioselectivities are realized in palladium-catalyzed allylic alkylation to construct
chiral quaternary carbon centers for a wide range of substrates for the first time. A number of ferrocene-derived catalysts are applied in the reaction. It is shown that chirality
on the oxazoline ring is not necessary. Derivative (I) is found to be most effective
