Ruthenium-Catalyzed Olefin Metathesis Double-Bond Isomerization Sequence.
A novel Ru-catalyzed tandem ring-closing metathesis/double bond isomerization re12- 062 —
action can be achieved using various additives. Best results for the synthesis of 6- and
7-membered cyclic enol ethers [cf. (II)] are obtained in the presence of NaOH/iPrOH.
The 5-membered cyclic enol ethers are formed efficiently using NaH (or ethyl vinyl
