Preparation of Carbon-Supported PtNi Nanoparticles via the Single Source
Molecular Precursor Approach. — The title nanoparticles are prepared by thermolysis of (III) in the presence of carbon in a flowing H2/Ar gas mixture (550 °C, 2 h).
The samples are characterized by powder XRD, TEM, SEM/EDX, and study of their
electrochemical performance in room temperature methanol oxidation. They show improvements in both catalytic activity and slower catalytic deactivation compared to a
