Incorporation Transition Metal Complexes into Tetrathioarsenates(V): Syntheses, Structures, and Properties of Two Unprecedented
[Mn(dien)2]n[Mn(dien)AsS 4]2n�H2O and [Mn(en)3]2[Mn(en)2AsS4][As3S6]. ?
The structures of the title compounds (IV) (monoclinic, space group P21/c, Z = 2) and
(V) (monoclinic, space group Cc, Z = 4) are determined by single crystal XRD. (IV)
contains infinite [Mn(dien)A sS-4 ] zigzag-chains in which the tetrathioarsenate(V)
anion acts as a novel �?1,?2 bridging ligand. The water molecules in (IV) also form
chains which are linked to the anionic [Mn(dien)A sS-4 ] chains via O?H贩稴 bonds
resulting in layers. In the AsIII/As V mixed compound (V) the AsVS4 unit acts as chelating
ligand. The As3S3 ring of the [As3S6]3- anion is in chair-conformation. (IV) and (V) exhibit intriguing semiconducting properties (Eg = 2.18 eV and 2.48 eV, resp.) and strong
photoluminescence with the emission maximum occurring around 440 nm. ? (FU,
