Water Splitting into H2 and O2 over Cs2Nb4O11 Photocatalyst. — The photophysical and photocatalytic properties of the title compound, prepared by solid state reaction
of Cs2CO3 and Nb 2O5 (Pt crucible, air, 1173 K), are studied. The band gap of Cs2Nb4O11
is determined to be 3.7 eV. Broad blue photoluminescence is observed at 77 K. Pretreated NiO-loaded Cs2Nb4O11 shows a high activity for water splitting under UV-light irradiation. — (MISEKI, Y.; KATO, H.; KUDO*, A.; Chem. Lett. 34 (2005) 1, 54-55;
