Synthesis of Fluorodihydroxysulfonium Hexafluoroantimonate
[FS(OH)2]+[SbF6]-. — Raman spectroscopic investigations of solutions of SO2 in
HF/SbF5 and DF/SbF5 reveals that SO2 not only reacts under formation of the SO2SbF5
adduct, but also adds HF and becomes protonated to form isolable (III), a salt of the
protonated fluorosulfinic acid. (III) is an extremely moisture sensitive solid which decomposes between -75 and -70 °C. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space
group P21/c with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD at 173 K). — (KORNATH*, A.;
