A Novel Microporous Copper Silicate: Na2Cu 2Si 4O11·2H2O. — Large spherical
aggregates of long green needles of the novel microporous title compound are synthesized hydrothermally from solutions of Cu(SO4)2, Na2O, SiO 2, and NaOH (autoclave,
230 °C,10 d). Na2Cu2Si4O11·2H2O crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1
(single crystal XRD). The single Cu2+ metal center is coordinated to five SiO4 tetrahedra
and one H2O molecule in a geometry resembling a highly distorted octahedron. The
material is capable of undergoing reversible zeolitic water removal without destruction
