(Sr3Nx)E and (Ba3Nx)E (E: Sn, Pb): Preparation, Crystal Structures, Physical
Properties and Electronic Structures. — The compounds Sr3NxSn (x = 0.74, 0.81),
Ba3N0.62Sn, and Ba3N0.83Pb are prepared by arc melting of the metals followed by reaction in N2 atmosphere at 970—1220 K. The structure of the isotypic compounds
(space group Pm3m, Z = 1; cubic anti-perovskite type) are studied by powder neutron
and X-ray diffraction. Measurements of the magnetic susceptibility indicate a nearly
temperature independent paramagnetism. The electrical resistivities are weakly temperature dependent with resistivities in the order of 1 mΩ·cm at 300 K. —
