Chiral Relay in Enantioselective Conjugate Radical Additions Using PyrazolidiTemplates. How Does Metal Geometry Impact Selectivity? — A novel class

of achiral templates containing fluxional groups is studied in conjugate radical reactions of α,β-unsaturated ketones (III) and (VII) with simple halides. High enantioselectivities are achieved by use of magnesium or copper Lewis acids in combination with
chiral bisoxazolines (I) or (II), but opposite stereoinduction is observed for both metals.
This is proposed to be the result of different geometry around the metal cores. —
