Two New Hydrated Oxyhydroxides Sr3Co 1.7Ti0.3O5(OH)2·xH2O and
Sr4Co1.6Ti1.4O8(OH)2·xH2O Derived from the RP n = 2 and 3 Members: Structural
and Magnetic Behavior versus Temperature. — The title compounds are synthesized from stoichiometric mixtures of SrCO3, Co3O4, and TiO2 in air (1275 °C, 5 d).
The samples are characterized by TEM, powder XRD, and magnetic measurements.
Sr3Co1.7Ti 0.3O5(OH)2·xH2O crystallizes in the monoclinic space group I12/m1 with
Z = 2 and the anhydrous compound Sr3Co 1.7Ti0.3O5(OH)2 in the tetragonal space group
P4/mmm with Z = 1. The magnetic behavior of the title compounds is governed by the
