High-Temperature Ordering of Structural Vacancies in the Cobalt-Rich Portion
of the Binary System Co—Ge. — The ordering of structural vacancies in the
high-temperature phase Co3Ge2 is characterized by powder XRD, macroscopic density
measurements, and light microscopical methods. The phase crystallizes in the space
group P63/mmc with the Fe 2-xGe-type structure. The distribution of structural vacancies
differs from the one for the quasihomologous phase Ni19Ge12 due to the difference in
filling of the 3d band for the late transition metals Co and Ni. — (AUDEBRAND, N.;
