Temperature Dependent Neutron Powder Diffraction Study of the Laves Phase
Compound TbCo2. ? The structure, magnetization, and anisotropic magnetostriction
22- 014 of
the title compound are characterized by temperature dependent high resolution neutron powder diffraction. The compound exhibits the cubic Laves phase C15 type structure above its Curie temperature TC and shows rhombohedral distortion (space group
R3) below TC. The magnetic moment of TbCo2 is about 5.8 礏/formula unit, the anisotropic magnetostriction constant is about 4.6�-3, and the volume magnetostriction is
