Fe7S8 Nanorods and Nanosheets. — The title nanoparticles are synthesized in large
from Fe and sulfur powder in a KI flux (Ar flow, 750—850 °C, 2 h). The samples
22- 239 scale
are characterized by XRD, SEM, and TEM. Nanorods and nanosheets are obtained at
750 and 850 °C, respectively. The thickness of the nanosheets is less than 100 nm. The
diameter of the nanorods is about 200 nm, and their length is about 2 µm. The growth
mechanism for the title nanorods and nanosheets are discussed. — (KONG*, X.;
