TNU-7: A Large-Pore Gallosilicate Zeolite Constructed of Strictly Alternating
MOR and MAZ Layers. — A zeolite of chemical composition
Na12.4Ga12.4Si47.6O120·30.9H2O (TNU-7) is prepared hydrothermally from
2Na2O·xM2O3·10SiO2·15H2O (M: Al, Ga; 0.125 ≤ x ≤ 2.0; autoclave, 150 °C, 7 d) and
characterized by powder XRD. A completely dehydrated sample crystallizes in the
orthorhombic space group Pmmn. Its structure consists of strictly alternating mordenite
and mazzite layers linked via chains of 5-rings. As a consequence of the strict alternation of mordenite and mazzite sheets, the main 12-ring channels are asymmetric. —
