Structural Modifications Induced by Composition in the La1.33-xNa 3xTi2O6 Perovskites: A Neutron Diffraction Study. — The title compounds are prepared by the
"liquid mix" technique from an aqueous solution of La(NO3)3, NaNO3, and TiO2 in
stoichiometric ratios (1273—1373 K, several days). The samples are characterized by
powder X-ray and neutron diffraction, electron diffraction, and HREM. Slight variations in composition produce different displacements in the atomic coordinates of the
oxygen atoms that lead to structural modifications. The compounds crystallize in the
space groups Cmmm, Pbmm, and Ibmm for x = 0.11, x = 0.16, and x = 0.28, respectively. The structural changes are analyzed on the basis of the group—subgroup relations and the tilting of the TiO6 octahedra. — (RUIZ*, A. I.; LOPEZ, M. L.; PICO, C.;
