An Efficient Dealkylative Addition of Trialkylamines to Dialkyl Acetylenedicarin the Presence of a Metallic Chloride. — It is shown that metal chlorides

such as SbCl3 promote the dealkylative addition of trialkylamines to acetylenedicarboxylates. Aminomaleates are obtained stereoselectively. Interestingly, the use of dimethyldodecylamine results in an exclusive formation of product (V). The use of triallylamine gives rise to a C-allylated product (XI) formed via [3,3] rearrangement of
