Dehydrohalogenation of Substituted Diethyl Halocyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxy— The dehydrohalogenation of halocyclopropane derivatives (IIIb) and (X) with

tBuOK leads to cyclopropenes (VII) and (XI), which react with CH2N2 to afford regioisomeric dihydropyridazines (VIII)/(IX) and (XII)/(XIII), respectively. The reaction of
methyl substituted derivative (IIIa) with tBuOK under similar conditions gives rise to
